We Get Asked A Lot
Can I Use One Tap Out with Multiple Phones?
Absolutely (and great idea to push your partner, friends, or interns to use it too). As long as the phone has the Tap Out app installed, it works on any Tap Out Point!
Can't I Just Delete the App?
Right, we get it: we've been there too. To make this impossible when you're tapped out, we've added a 'Prevent Deletion' mode in the app.
Do You Have Access to Data About Which Apps I block?
Nope - all information about which apps you block is stored only on your phone.
What If I Lose My Tap Out or Need Urgent Access?
In case you lose your Tap Out Point or have an emergency, you can always get access with an urgent access token, of which you get 3. You use the token by filling in multiple long and difficult codes. Once they're gone, you need to request new ones with us :)
What is the Tap Out 60 Day Trial Period?
We're so sure you'll love your Tap Out, that you can always return it up to 60 days after receival for a full refund of your product(s), no questions asked.
Does my phone or tablet work with Tap Out?
As of now, Tap Out works on iPhones with iOS 17 or higher and on Android phones.
Because iPads and most tablets don't have NFC scanners, we're developing an alternative solution.

First launched in 2024 in Amsterdam, we want to revolutionise the way people interact with their phones. Because truly - nothing worries us more than addictive apps holding people back from becoming their best self.
Our story
We founded Tap Out because we felt we spent way too much time on addictive social apps, in stead of on the things that mattered. And unfortunately nothing - screentime limits, gray mode, Opal, OneSec, two different phones - had worked for us.
And so we went to work and came to an amazing new idea: a physical key to lock and unlock your apps. With the help of generative software development, a 3D printer, and Renée (an Architect) as design advisor, we were able to develop a working prototype within a week, next to our day-to-day jobs. That prototype is what became Tap Out - an actual solution against mindless phone addiction that is helping hundreds of people already.
